MTB Northern Adriatic Islands Hopping

First ever that WC DH MTB race was held on an island and that was Losinj in Croatia 2018.

We will ride to the course track and check it out, climbing to the starting gate from where magnificeint views are all around, and that's why WC DH circus loves this venue.

History writes stories, so the oldest written evidence of Croatian language was found in a church on the island of Krk. This will mark the starting point of our MTB-ing across Northern Adriatic islands.

Very mild climate, even in the winter, provides a perfect temperature range from 10 to 25 degrees c, coupled with different variety of terrains which will for sure give you white knuckle highs and lows.

Spectacular scenery from Lubenice village on Cres island will be joined by a ride through a network of mazes, but we’ll an eye on you so you will find your way out. All the island in this tour have similar climate but the vegetation is very different from one island to another. Krk is very dry, rocky, and hundreds of kilometers of stone walls are spreading all around the horizont. Cres on the other hand is much more covered in forrest and oak is the dominant tree species. As the climate is also quite dry, oak grows here in strange forms and shapes making some of the trail where we will ride very eairy and magic.

From Cres to Losinj we will hop over the moveable bridge, which is a local daily traditional venue. Town of Osor is located right where these two islands are connecting and it emanates unique atmosphere.

Losinj is covered with hundreds of kilometers of amazing singletrack, very often following the coastal line providing views to be remembered. Vegetation on Losinj is quite endemic because of the unique weather microclimate so if you end gasping for air on top of the climb some thyme and lavander will ease the feeling a bit :) .
